The Energy Globe was founded in 1999 and awarded for the first time in 2003 in Styria by “Land Steiermark”. Since 2014, “Land Steiermark”, together with “Energie Steiermark AG”, has been awarding the Energy Globe STYRIA AWARD in May 2019 in the auditorium of the old University in Graz. The prestigious Energy and Environment Prize brought Styrian initiatives to the forefront of climate protection.
